Whirlyball just saps the life out of me when I'm up until 3am. Of course I wanted to read some when I got home so I finally got to bed at like 3:30 I believe. And I'm absolutely starving!

So strangly I've been reading CNN.com alot lately. What is it about news that just seems to drag you in and make you want to read more about it? I tend to avoid all the really crappy news on the site though and instead attempt to read most of the stuff about new technologies and all the happenings in space etc.

The first privately funded spacecraft went into space for a short period of time yesterday. I really wonder what it's like to look out into space outside of our atmosphere. I remember one time laying on a dock at a camp when I was in college. The place was in the middle of no where and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. I laid on my back and since I was on the end of the dock I couldn't see the trees or anything. I could feel the amazing sense of just how small our planet was in relation to the entire expansive space of the universe. I could see so many stars and then the feeling of how very small I was in relation to everything. Such a humbling feeling. Why is it that alot of us look to the stars?
