So I was at Dave and Busters yesterday and sitting in the resturant when I started noticing the checkered floor. To give you an idea how strangely my mind thinks I started asking myself why do alot of resturants, kitchens, bathrooms have checkered floors. Is it just an asthetic design decision? Does it help hide grim and objects on the floor cause the tile pattern is contastanly changing? Does it help make the room look larger then it really is? And what's the choice between diagonal versus side to side patterns in relation to the walls?

Ah one of the grand mysteries of life. =)
