Musings 2 of 5
Nov. 25th, 2001 07:08 pmEver notice super villians and really mental people have this knack for luxury. Well maybe not luxury just the finer things. Like take Hannibal Lector from the movie how he was always about the more sophisticated things. How alot of serial killers devle into art. Is it because of their casting off of mental shackles of what's right and wrong give them the mental freedom to want to explore things that make life a bit sweeter? Now I'm not saying bludgeoning someone or eating there liver is making life sweeter by any means, but I do wonder if there is a connection to there state of mind. They always say that children and the insane always have the most creative and free minds. How many people really live life by what they really love in the five senses? The feel of fabrics, the smell of perfumes, the paintings of light, the rapture of rhythm, the taste of wine subtlies. I mean sure everyone loves nice things. But how many try to enjoy all aspects of them all the time. I'm not talking about people who are pretentious or snobby cause they are more driven by wanting to impress others not themselves. How many of you seek out the finer things and any suggestions on what you find finer?
cant say that i do...
Date: 2001-11-26 02:14 am (UTC)i wouldnt mind having fancy things. but id be afraid id become obsessive. start wiping doorhandles. and bringing my own fork to the resturaunts. i wouldnt want to become like niles (frasier) even though his expensive lifestyle is appealing sometimes, and i really wouldnt care to become like hannibal (for the obvious reasons)
currently my finer things would include buying a cd instead of having it burned, and having steak for dinner. i guess i learned it from my dad. but i buy things that are on sale. now i do buy things i want, when the money walks across me...
so maybe i will by a piece of art everyonce in awhile. but i think its best for me to stick to my middle class suburban life style...for now anyways....after all im only 15
