Can't sleep

Which is odd cause normally when I lay down feeling like I was I go right to sleep. I fell into this strange half state and couldn't sleep for nearly an hour. So now I'm back up. Perhaps I'll get tired and try it again.

I'm on my way to Jax to see Rabbit in the Moon. I'll be back in time to lounge on the parking deck for fireworks homies! (househead and muffinbear)

I don't know why but lately I've felt out of touch with people. And it doesn't matter who I call or talk to I just don't ever feel there's time enough to keep up with everyones lives. Or learn or follow through more indepth with them. So many interesting people, friends and aquantencies and yet I always feel like I'm having to cut conversations short. And to couple to that constantly people are slipping through the cracks with so much going on. I just hope people understand that when I see them and talk to them that it's genuine and not some minimal maintenance.

Does that make sense to anyone? Is there any advice anyone can provide to that? I mean even on here on LJ there's alot of you I wish I knew more about. And yet it seems like I don't have the time or the mental storage to attempt to learn more about you all. I know there was that MEME going around about facts that you don't believe people know about you. If you could please leave me one of those facts as a comment. I'd really appreciate that. Especially if it's something you think I might find a great deal of interest in even though simply leaving a comment will inspire interest enough.

how was ur 4th? mine was eh- okay. gave my cat a bath! he didn't like that very much. but i did get to see a really bad display of fireworks. they weren't long and they weren't very good either.

but on the good side...
i may have an interview with the University of Cincinnati sometime next week. just pray that it goes through and i get the job.

Unfortunately, I'm the queen of not being able to see people. So my advice may not mean much. But I think the issue is time. No one has enough of it, and schedules will always conflict. I know that when I get off work, I want so badly to spend time with friends, but I'm pretty much a vegetable at that point and of no use...

I wish I knew what to tell you, other than the fact that everyone knows what a genuine person you are, so I doubt that anyone feels like you're "blowing them off". It would be strange if anyone did feel that way :)

it makes perfect sense - i keep thinking that my brain needs external usb drives, so i could swap them out for different social situations.

and um i just woke up so i can't think of anything super creative to say. but if it makes you feel any better, you're on my super friends filter (meaning you see things i post that most other people don't - so you've got a better chance of learning more about me already)

hmm. i'm bad at making friends. i'm very friendly but i never had good examples of how to have friends (my mom was/is psycho - and my dad is pretty much the absent minded proffessor) so i'm really shy about doing things like calling people or even messaging them. it's something i'm working on slowly. i guess that i'm always terrified that people don't really like me - and that i'm bugging them. i guess that means i'm pretty shy.

I hate to say it, too, but i'm horrible at keeping up with everyone because of my busy weird schedule. Don't feel bad, Erich, it's normal these days :( I hate it, too, though. Sometimes I feel like people think i'm a jerk if I can never hang out when they can, or if I don't call someone back in a certain period of time. My mental capacity is retarded LOL< and can only hold so much as well.
I guess my advice would be (and i'm talking to myself, too), make a list of people you need to call and call maybe at least 3 a day? I'm going to try the same thing. Just start checking them off, and before you realize it, you'll be in a routine of keeping up with everyone you care about :)
OH and chips and salsa. Both of us are so busy we can't find time, but I understand and I hope you do, too. BUT, we have to do it soon and i'm serious! *sad* lol

I think everyone would like to be more in touch with their friends than they are, but being an adult means that more than likely you're to busy to do it. I find that I go thru cycles, sometimes I'm super consciencous(sp?) about staying in touch with people and sometimes I look back and realise I haven't talked to anyone in weeks. Thank god most of my friends are the same way so they tend to be very forgiving.

And for a weird fact, hmm... I went to a Performing Arts magnet high school for dance but they let me be in the chorus as well (even though I can't really sing) and one of the big perks of that was that we got to go to London my junior year and sing at Westminster Abbey for the Queen.

marynificient sent me your way as someone who might know details on renting booths at 1150 for shows (specifically the Infected Mushroom show this Friday) -- I received the canned response regarding outright price ($300 bottle fee for 10 person booth + tips/taxes) but I wasn't sure if that included show admission or whatever else.

If you have an email address I can send you along the info for the club. I would just call Eleven50 and ask. but that's the standard price. They don't usually go any lower then that and usually higher on packed nights. I believe it includes admission for the 10 guests but they have to be at the show before 11pm. Other then that it will probably be a great show =)
