So today's romp has been researching various Gin's. I think my first encounter with a Martini was a Gibson (pearl onion) at the Yale club in NY with Bombay Sapphire. My first sip unfortunately was sort of a gulp and was like drinking gasoline. But I stick to it as I didn't want to offend the guest I was with since they ordered and by the time I got done.. well Martini's are my first drink of choice now.
So I've been on this sort of adventure finding what I like as the perfect martini. I've been through various Gins and have still lots and lots to learn and uncover. But has anyone tried Hendricks Gin or Damrak? My gin of choice right now is Tanquray #10 even though I think the original smells like pinesol. And anyone know anything clever or eccentric I might want to try instead of something stuffed olives, pearl onions, lemon/lime/orange peel twists, etc?
