New Orleans
Nov. 5th, 2003 11:22 amWell needless to say this should be a pretty long and extended post. But that's assuming I'm willing to write it all out. =)
New Orleans was pretty awesome. Such an interesting city it is. On one side you have total spring break type debauchery on bourbon street. I saw several people getting arrested, one individual totally getting his butt kicked by a cop. And then on the other you have the antiques, art galleries, and exquisite cuisine.
So for now let me hit the highlights(good and bad) that I can remember:
-Seeing Rabbit in the Moon from about 2 feet from the stage. (also getting two cds, the effects glasses, bunny money, a bunch of glow necklaces, and crowd surfing bunny)
-Getting a free Rio Chiba mp3 player from the nice guys at the Sobe Tent just for getting them 2 beers. =)
-Getting assaulted with a rain of bead from every direction on bourbon street (seriously I felt like I needed radar and a helmet)
-Seeing the Hustler Strip Club
-Obviously tons of boobs (it was Halloween in new Orleans for goodness sakes)
-Staying at the Monteleone Halloween night. It's an awesome awesome hotel on Royal one street from bourbon
-Seeing Penguins and such at the Aquarium
-Watching the Calypso Dancers from the Caribbean doing they're street acrobatics show(I swear they're the same people I saw in new york several years ago)
-Had a hand rolled Cigar and watched it being made
-Ate pretty decent Cajun food
-Saw LOTS of really wonderful and amazing art. (Windsor Fine Art being my favorite)
-Walking the water front
-Oogling a Red 360 Modena Ferrari
-Laughing about the fact there is actually a city named Eutaw (It's like Utah redneckified)
-Seeing a Tractor trailer hanging half off the bridge heading into New Orleans
-Watched some people film a commercial
-Learned and saw where "Dixie" actually came from
-Went to harrah's and actually came out with just about as much as I went in with
I'm sure there's a lot more that's just all I can think of at the moment. :)
