i think its that the song lyrics speak to the person at the time and put into words what they are feeling. I dont think it has anything to do with being 'poetic'

I see nothing wrong with it. It's not me trying to be poetic in any way what-so-ever. Sometimes song lyrics describe how i feel at a particular moment when I can't/don't have time to write myself.
And if people don't like what I write/post in my LJ-then they don't have to read...:o)

I just wish people would write more then just the lyrics themselves or at least trim them down to the really relavent parts. Cause repeating a chorus like 3 times like a regular song does seems redundant. I post lyrics myself from time to time but I usually take just the parts that really are relevant and even mix them in with my own words. =)
