So besides the obvious (I like electronic dance music) what other music do you like even the essentric(sic) stuff. And no "I like every type of music" will not qualify. Cause I'm talking stuff you want to crank full blast and just revel in.

I'm listening currently to my Canadian Brass cd which you can call me a band geek but I love ensemble classical music.

Classical and contemporary piano.
1920's/30's big band jazz
Really sultry female vocal lounge blues
French opera
Instrumental movie soundtracks

and gasp

Disney tunes :)

Well, I really do like every kind of music, but you said I wasn't allowed to say that...soooooo.
Right now my genre of choice is sort of Indie/EMO.

bands like Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, Neutral Milk Hotel, Postal Service, etc.

My steady listening (i.e. what you can always find somewhere nearby) is hmmm, 70s rock. Do you call that classic rock? Like Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, The Greatful Dead, etc.

Finally, because I am a rampant stoner, I also like Jam Bands, such as Widespread Panic, Phish, Pat McGee Band, OAR and such. Pretty much anything that sounds like it could come from Athens!

Don't worry, I love Disney too. I love music from musicals (annie), opera, movies (moulin rouge). I think it's because it conveys emotion, usually through really strong singing and I love that. I love singers who really belt it out. Probly why I like Andrea Bocelli.

But what really gets me dancing and feeling wonderful is 80s music. Depeche Mode, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Tears for Fears, Anything Box, Duran Duran, Talk Talk, XTC... 80s music just moves through me and gives me energy.
