This just amuses me. It made me laugh out loud when I read the description. So much so I had to take a picture of it.

"..for reasons that remain unclear." Umm hello?! Probably cause he was either 1) a whack job 2) perverted 3) Or just like seeing how long he could confuse people with penis's on both male and female characters and then never had a chance to clue anyone in on his joke. But it just makes me laugh how they try to get all analytical about something that could just be simple a quirk. Like they have to be all fancy smansy deep psyche trauma underlying my mother wet the bed art critic about everything.

This piece was extremely cool.

It's sort hard to see with my camera phone photo but it's massive and it depicts the night sky and some view out into the ocean. It was really neat to sit there and look at it cause it really did have that feeling of being on the beach at night looking out at stars.

Now while I walked around most of the museum and really just didn't feel that many of the pieces. I did run into one piece that I didn't realize was there but definitely made the whole trip worth it. For some reason I looked at all the paintings and really was bored with 99% of them. I could appreciate the artistic value but at the same time I just sort of yawned and moved on. The two monet's were great to see even if they were behind glass. But that's a given cause I love monet best of all the painters I know beside perhaps Jack Vettriano. The only other piece that were cool were some of the marble sculptures. But when I saw this:

I was quite impressed and sat down and took a look at it for a while. Way cool to see the real deal. And if you thought it was bright and colorful in reprints you should see these. High intensity for sure.

Later on afterward as I was walking out through the building and then through the symphony hall building to check out what shows might be coming up there was this large group of people sitting around with there kids. A couple minutes later this guy gets up and does this whole puppet show with marionette puppets. It was way cool to see someone so skilled at puppetry. Not to mention just sort of put a smile on my face sort of like being a kid again watching and laughing at the funny things he was doing with the puppets in the show.

And here's the sculpture that's outside the art building which I always thought was cool. I was lucky enough to take the picture while other people were trying to so someone was standing next to it so you can get an idea of it's size.

And then it was time to head home...

Darger!!!! ah! I must visit there soon! (The last time I went was when they had the Van Gogh exhibit.) The images are actually from the story that he wrote (which is actually the longest piece of fiction ever written). It hasn't been pupblished yet, for many reasons, but they did make a book with some of his art, and several chapters from the books. If you ever get the chance to read it, or information about his life, then you'll understand why the girls had penises. I am very surprised that they didn't include that information, because I'm sure now many people think he's a sicko.

Really? That's odd not sure what the story about his life would explain why the girls had penises =) but I'm sure there is some reason. But yeah It just made me laugh the way they wrote the caption. =)
