VIP on a whole new level

The weekend was good minus a few smaller things but I do have quite the story for you. Saturday night after the clubs close I go back over to Sutra where I hang out, have a drink or two just chilling and talking to the bartenders. It's about the only real time we get to talk since during normal hours there is too much going on to have a conversation. Well on this particular night a lot of the bartenders at 1150 had already gotten me nice and toasty before I had gone to Sutra to do my standard hang out. Well I was quite tired and fell asleep while everyone was counting their drawers and restocking the alcohol. Well I had fallen asleep in on of the VIP section and I should have been pretty obvious in view. But....I guess not :) Cause at 7:30 in the morning guess who woke up to a locked, empty club? Yep me :)

I woke up needing to go to the bathroom and confused why it was so bright inside the club. Before I even got my bearing of what was going on I took two steps and set off the motion detectors and the club alarm. Talk about a rude hello for a hang over :) So I proceed to call both owners and the head of security with no luck. I sat down trying to figure out what to do next since I figured the cops would be showing up soon. That's when the alarms turned off. Great now if I move I'll set them off again. It took me another 15 minutes to slowly get out of the club without setting the alarm off again.

Later that day one of the owners call me and goes jokingly "why are you try to break into my club." My response "please, I wasn't trying to break into your club I was try to break out of it! And didn't anyone wake me up, I was right out in the open?" "Ummm.... opps? lol" :)

Most VIPs I know get some extra drinks, perhaps invites to secret after parties, but I don't know any who get to sleep at the club till morning. :) Only in my life I swear lol!

But also I was talking to some friends who have been urging me to look into making a coffee table book of club photos. Does anyone know anything about that process?

ROFL...I can't believe you fell asleep in there. And yeah...gotta love sneaking through motion detectors. Creeping step by slow step.

[identity profile] karice.livejournal.com 2005-11-14 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Sadly, had that been me, I would have slept right through the alarm....damn being so deaf! ;)p Great story though, just glad the cops didn't bust your ass!

I've made a few photo books before.. a wedding book for a friend that told the story of their love. and some other photo books and portfolios for people.

Basically you just organize the pictures and create each page. Print them all out, laminate and bind together. A place like kinko's can help you with all of that. or you can go to a place like staple's and buy one of those "make it yourself scrapbooks, hardbacks, photo albums, etc" kits. They're not that expensive and it's pretty easy to do.

now if you're making these books to sell, I'm not sure but you'd probably have to copyright it or something.. I don't know.

is that the process you were asking about, or are you talking about something else. I've never heard of a coffee table book before..

[identity profile] tsumik.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I was talking about getting a book out to a publisher to actually print and get placed into the art section of borders, barnes and noble etc. I have enough body of work in that category to do something like that. It's just a matter of putting it all together. I own all the copyrights to the photo as the photographer the only possible problem is model releases of people but I'm not sure how that works out.

[identity profile] fallon.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah it seemed silly to think you were asking about that process, but I thought I'd comment anyway.

[identity profile] bekasketch.livejournal.com 2005-11-15 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
HAHAHAHA
That made me laugh.

My mom made her first book and scanned it and sent a publisher her copy.
I think she did it with kinkos.
From there, they took care of the publishing and such.

I can ask her more details about it if you'd like.

[identity profile] tsumik.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes that would be awesome! =)
