Enough that I'm actually considering getting it done. Which is strange cause I hardly even like tatoos all that much.

Basically it's a key fob that has a specific ID that you can use to unlock doors, use as a password access on a computer etc. You can get them in secure and non-secure varieties. It's about the size of a grain of rice and is practically undetectable once they place it in. They use the same thing on pets for helping find owners if a lost pet is found. Here's a FAQ about it.

I read something like this in Wired before where this guy had something more complex put into his arm and it was more active in the sense he could teach his brain to talk to it with nerve endings which this device would relay the signals to a computer. Which then in turn could do virtually anything. But the REALLY cool part about that his Wife was getting on too and they could actually .. umm communicate through it. Very primitively, but to me that's awesome.

they inject id chips into cats and dogs about the size of a grain of rice. i had it done to lola (havent done to hank YET), and i could feel it under her skin after they did it---it's freaking TINY as shit...and there is no way to retrieve it once it's injected.

ive heard this before, and i like that idea a lot because its almost the definition of convenience, but isnt branding humans a sign of the apocolypse?

whatever. its still cool!

I've been following this for quite a while and I'm not a big conspiracy theorist but I see this as just another way to invade people's privacy.

Seriously, the government is all over this.
