My triumphant return...
Jan. 9th, 2002 01:24 pmOr maybe not. I'm not sure how to make the entry short with one of those nifty "read more" things if someone could leave me a comment on how to do that. =) SO...
A long long time since I've posted here and I feel sort of guilty about it. It's funny how livejournal always seems to be up in arms and evil when you feel like posting. Plus that with everything going on sort of kept me away from my posting self. So recapping on what's gone on since the last time.
Christmas was so so. It was great ot spend it with my family and such but with money being tight for everyone it was slightly a downer. I hate when you don't have enough money to get people the things you knwo would be the perfect gift. But I guess it's why life is sort of like the pendulum where last year I had a ton of money to buy people gifts. The gifts of note I can think of is the 16x burner which actually causes major problems for my computer. It's already bursting at the seams as it is. I need deperately to get a new case and such. 7 hard drives, 2 burners, 1 dvd rom, 1 zip, 2 external usb hard drives, and 1 external zip seems to be taxing her to pieces. I'm surprised half the time that it still runs with the application abuse I put to it.
The weekend after christmas was definitely the rockstar weekend if any could be. Went to the Globe theatre rave at 11 to pick up some "items" from a friend before racing off to see Oakenfold at 11:30 till 6am at the north atlanta trade center. He was so so which I don't expect much from him nowadays with his super sized swelled head. But Dean Coleman after him was great. PPK - Resurrection will always live in my mind for that night. So when the lights went up we still in that "happy tarded" party mood so went back to a friends and had a happy little party till 8am which then at that time had to go to work for 4 hours then cam home slept for another 3 then got up and got ready to go see Timo Maas at Eleven50. Now I love Timo but good mother of sweet Jesus did he tear the roof off the place, light it on fire, piss on it, and basically made me call him daddy. I think I was still dancing like a mad fool till like 7am. Not to mention I had to fight off my friend Colin's date from molesting me on the dance floor RIGHT in front of him. Sheesh some people. Then always to finish a great night at the local taco cababana. Then home to sleep for nearly a day straight =)
So then New Year came around two days later. Ak1200 and Desielboy were coming to the Masqurade in Atlanta. Now if you've ever been to the Masqurade you would know that it is a really sketch type of place with two levels. As much as I wanted to see Ak1200 and Desielboy there wasn't any desire to go see them at the Masqurade. The was another party at The Globe called El Cheapo for the people that didn't feel like going to the masqurade. I decided since everyone I knew was going to the masqurade and there wasn't going to be hardly anyone at El Cheapo I wouldn't go to that one either. Well... at 11:30 the stairway that connected the two floors of the masqurade collapsed with like 15 people on it. Thanksfully everyone was released from the hospital the next day with nothing more major then a few bloody noses and light sprains. So what happens when you 4000 people with no new years festivities? Well they all went to the Globe... and Ak1200 and Desielboy feelign bad about everyone showed up at the Globe and played at El Cheapo for free. I heard it was unbelievable... sigh. But I did make a little flyer to commemorate the event even though I wasn't there. http://www.stillvapor.com/images/drowning.jpg (Let me know what you think)
So then January 8th... My birthday =) Same day as Elvis and tragically as of Jan 8th 2002 the last day of Dave Thomas the founder of Wendy's. Nothing super eventful happened for me though. Went to a really nice Italian resturant in Kenosha, Wi called Mangia Trattoria. I got a really nice set of 900mhz wireless headphones with a rechargeable battery pack and everything.
So I'm chilling now in chicago till friday when I return back to Atlanta. I have lots of other things to tell but I won't fry all your retinas out reading all this. =) I promise to be a little more current on my posts. =)
