Ugh... nothing bothers me more then not having answers. And there is this huge debate about religion and it's realism etc on a forum I frequent. I have such issues with it cause 90% of the time it's like handing loaded guns to a group of arguing people. These discussions can't just seem to stay just that... discussions. People have to resort to name calling and deeming other people idiots cause they don't see there side.
I believe in a higher being with no label. I don't believe much in church as I have a lot of issues surrounding it (ie why every preacher/pastor I've known drives a new Mercedes when humility was suppose to be a virtue) and I have a lot of issues with the bible being truth. I'm not saying I don't think it provides wonderful moral direction there's just something about a book written/edit/revised using interpreted translations that I have issues with. Not to mention the fact it contradicts itself several times over. I do believe in faith but I only hold that to some measure of a degree to where I'm just shooting for something that an entire paradigm of proofs and reasoning go against it(ie science). And the one thing I hate most is when people throw the "If I'm wrong I have nothing to lose, but If I'm right you have everything to lose" etc. etc. how egotistical of a comment is that? Cause that just makes me think of two things. Do these people really believe or are they just afraid not too? and Would God cast me out cause he put into me the ability to question until I have answers? (The argument to that is that is the rules of how it goes simply put but last I checked rules have never applied to God)
So in any case it just bothers me that there isn't a definitive answer and something such as religion which is suppose to bring us together just in turn separates us more. It just causes all these people to turn against each other. And how I always seem to end up back to something my high school drivers ed teacher said which I still find to be one of the most intelligent things I've ever heard. "The fall of every major civilization has been over moralization" Which I think amounts too... way to many people tell way to many other people what they think is right instead of living their lives acknowledging difference. or put even better by my good friend Darrell "People causing drama, cause they don't have any drama to call there own"
