Hybrid - Morning Sci-Fi *Advanced Promo*

"*swoon*.. i'm only through track 6 but *sigh* talk about musical programming genius. I'll give you my review so far.

The sound is so damn sophisticated it'd like black napkins instead of white when appropriate. It's a fruit compote of not your usual strawberry, blueberry's etc it's like pomegranates, shin-go pears, pine nuts, and blue cheese. The frequency clarity on these tracks is so cleanly brilliant I seriously wonder if they sat around with a spectrum analyzer and went "hmm well this kick is distorting this snare, lets pick a different kick drum."

But

I can see why some people would not like hybrid's "new" sound. It's definitely got a much edgier, matrixeque, sophisticated like james bond, made for movie soundtracks type sound. There's alot of analog flips, blips, and phases. Not to mention alot of bit crushed sounds. But again it's like some gourmet masterpiece for your ears. The constant change of textures, levels, and blends. Incredibly complex in it's structure but yet so very intricately clean. No added filler crap to give some frequency level depth.

So when this puppy hits the shelf July 23 best have your cash on the table boys and girls... this is one beautiful crafted CD. "

Sounds pretty interesting - the first Hybrid CD was really good... I like some of the songs on the new album that I've downloaded (Know Your Enemy and Gravistar).. but we'll see, I hear the sound is a lot more progressive and less melodic than their last album.

I agree whole-heartedly! I've been listening to it for the past month and a half or so. And even though I don't like dark nu-skool/progressive sound as much as funky breaks, I very much enjoy this CD. The orchestral backing sounds even better than it did in Wide Angle, which is pretty hard to believe. But yeah, I'd definately reccomend to anyone to go out and purchase this CD.

Hmmm my fiancee loves Hybrid. I guess I'll have to pick this up for him as a sort of pre-wedding gift.
