Built in disappointment

Getting ones hair color is sort of disappointing cause it fades with in the first day. My hair while a bit shocking had the vibrant colors of some lobster that came out of the sea with bright reds oranges and yellows. And now looking at it today it seems well sort of blah. Is there anything I can do besides recoloring it stronger to get that vibrance back?


... I just realized... I really sounds like a lot of girls I know who have gotten there hair colored.

I like the color. That looks really cool. To get some of the vibrance back I suggest going to Ulta or any salon and buying Artec's Kiwi shampoo and conditioner. It works really well to maintain your color. Also try some of Redken's Sun Milk. You spray it into your hair before you go outside and it has spf in it to protect your color from fading.

Actually, there is a way to make it last longer. Whatever color you put in it, put it in before you go to sleep and wrap your head in plastic wrap. The longer it sits, the longer it absorbs. It won't fad as fast. I do that with my hair and it will last a good 3 months of vibrant color before it starts to fade.

Are you using semi permanent dye? Semi permanent always fades rather quickly. If you want a brighter look, you might try permanent, and then just bleach it out once you get sick of it. There's also this special shampoo/conditioner that holds the colour in longer. I'm having my own hair issues right now. Instead of getting the stuff to pull the colour out (my hair was bright blue), I decided to try to dye over it. My hair turned a greenish colour. Ack. I'm getting it fixed this weekend, altho it's just hair.

Shouldn't be semi permanet as I got it done at a hair salon. Yeppers just hair =) It's faded out to a more copper color now which is probably better since I have one of those corporate jobs. =)

Hey I don't know you or anything, i got here from someone else's journal but anyways. I just wanted to say how funny this whole post is! I'm seriously not making fun or anything cause I mean we guys don't know much about hair treatment but then all these girls gave all their advice about how to do it. And theres so much use of the words "sheek" and "vibrance" its like a hair product commercial. I don't know i find this whole thing really funny haha
